Hi! I’m Sandra Ortuño, an illustrator and graphic designer.

I studied Fine Arts at the Universitat Politècnica de València in Spain, specialising in drawing, film and animation. After graduating, I earned a diploma in stop-motion animation, culminating in the full production of the musical short film Salsito, created alongside Víctor Gil. Salsito won 1st Prize at the Radio Nacional de España short film contest in 2010 and was showcased at several international animation festivals.

My illustration work includes the book Música, Poeta!, published by Edicions 96 in 2012, and Eva, a webcomic series created for the transmedia documentary project [m]otherhood in 2017.

Since 2011, I’ve worked as a graphic designer for various clients. My projects range from logos, website banners and social media assets to infographics, brochures, trade show boards and large-scale vinyl murals.

Beyond design, I run an Etsy shop where I sell prints, brooches, stationery and mugs inspired by my love of animals and nature. I have also sold my creations at places like Mill Road Winter Fair in Cambridge and Ely Markets (UK).

When I’m not drawing, I work as a zookeeper. I have a deep love for animals great and small as well as a passion for fantasy, sci-fi and horror. I enjoy long walks in nature, reading, travelling, photography, crafts and crochet.

Originally from Valencia, Spain, I now live in Cambridge, UK, with my two wonderful cats, Pixel and Smudge, and my husband, animator and musician Víctor Gil.
