Hi! My name is Sandra Ortuño and I’m an illustrator and graphic designer.

I studied Fine Arts at the Universitat Politècnica de València in Spain, mainly focusing on drawing, film and animation. After graduating, I got a stop-motion animation diploma at university which ended with the full production of the musical short film “Salsito”, created together with Víctor Gil. “Salsito” won 1st Prize at the Radio Nacional de España short film contest in 2010. It was also screened in several animation festivals around the world.

My work includes the illustrations for the book “Música, Poeta!”, published by Edicions 96 in 2012, and the series of webcomics “Eva”, for the documentary and transmedia project [m]otherhood in 2017.

I’ve been working as a graphic designer since 2011 for different clients, such as Ocean Holidays or Shepreth Wildlife Park, creating all sorts of graphic material ranging from logos, website banners, email layouts, infographics, social media graphic assets, presentations and icons to brochures, maps, informative booklets, signs, trade show boards, postcards and vinyl murals.

I have an Etsy shop, where I sell prints, brooches, stationery and mugs inspired in my love for animals and Nature. I have also sold my creations in several street markets, such as Mill Road Winter Fair in Cambridge (UK).

When I’m not drawing, I also work as a zookeeper. Besides all creatures great and small, I love fantasy, sci-fi and horror, long walks in the wilderness, reading, travelling, photography and crochet.

I was born and raised in Valencia (Spain) and now I live in Cambridge (UK) with my two awesome cats, Pixel and Smudge, and my husband, animator and musician Víctor Gil.
